Who we are
Desert Funerals is a 100% Aboriginal owned and culturally sensitive not-for-profit funeral service. Based in Alice Springs, it services remote communities around Central Australia, both in the Northern Territory and northern South Australia.
Founded by Ngurratjuta/Pmara Ntjarra Aboriginal Corporation and Centrecorp.
What we offer
Desert Funerals provides culturally sensitive funeral services. These services include arranging a pastor, funeral ceremony and burial either on Country or in Alice Springs.
There are lots of small details that are difficult to think about at a time of loss. We can refer you to other services that can help you to organise the affairs of the deceased, or transport for your family and friends to attend the funeral.
Funeral Ceremonies
We offer culturally appropriate funeral ceremonies, listening to the wishes of the deceased and their family to deliver a ceremony on Country or in Alice Springs.
Burial Services
We take care of all the details of the burial, on Country or in Alice Springs, so communities can grieve in peace, knowing their loved one is in safe hands.
